Jun will give introductory freestyle slalom skate classes on the last two Sundays of August. The skills/tricks will include slalom basics: Fish, Front Cross, Front Snake, Front One Foot, and Turn-around Transition. Depending on the skill level of a skater, other skills could include backward versions of all of the above basic tricks, Heel-Toe Snake, Nelson, Sun, Mab Rouk, and Mexican.
In addition, since a heel brake will interfere with many of the slalom tricks, Jun will bring tools and parts to help any student who still has a heel brake they’d like to remove from their skates. (If you intend to remove your heel brake, and you still have the original accessories that came with your skates, please see if a shorter axle was included with your skates. If so, please bring it to the class.)
Dates: Sundays, August 23 and/or August 30, 2015
Time: 10 AM to 11 AM
Location: West Cambridge (Exact location will be sent to registrants.)
Price: $20 per class
Prerequisite Skills: Participants should already have competent recreational skating skills, before taking this class. In other words, proficiency in scissoring, striding, stopping (ideally not with the heel brake), turning, and swizzling.
The class is limited to a maximum of eight (8) students, so advanced registration is required. Please indicate the day(s) you’d like to attend, and click on the “Buy Now” button below to register and pay for the lesson(s). (You’ll be redirected to PayPal’s website. However, you don’t need a PayPal account to pay by credit card.)
Note: Class will be cancelled in case of rain. (And a refund will be issued by mail or PayPal.)
